The change would allow Paulig to secure its long-term competitiveness by optimizing capacity and production costs and allocating resources more effectively.

“This change aims to strengthen Paulig’s long-term competitiveness. Rising production costs have put pressure on our profitability, and this change would enable us to handle rising costs more effectively, says Lenita Ingelin, SVP Branded Business Area at Paulig.
Paulig’s factory in Saue is fully owned by the company, unlike the rented facility in Mölndal, and has room for expansion, which provides greater flexibility for investments and future growth. The closure of the spice factory in Mölndal would affect all 86 employees at the factory, and some roles at the company’s Mölndal office. The change would be planned to be completed by summer 2027.
“Unfortunately, this would affect our employees working in Mölndal. Our priority is to support everyone who is impacted. Today, we have initiated union negotiations and given notice of planned redundancies for 105 positions in our operations in Mölndal, Sweden. This includes all 86 positions located at the Mölndal factory as well as some roles at the Mölndal office”, says Lenita Ingelin, SVP Branded at Paulig.
The planned change would not affect Paulig’s other sites in Sweden. The company currently employs approximately 490 people in Sweden and in addition to its spices factory in Mölndal, Paulig operates a tortilla factory in Landskrona and a warehouse in Kungsbacka. In addition, Paulig’s Marketing, Sales R&D, and other support functions in Mölndal would continue at the Mölndal and Solna offices. The functions that Paulig has at the Saue office in Estonia will continue as usual.
The final decision will be made after the completion of the union consultations.
