Paulig acquires Coffee Please Suomi Oy

Gustav Paulig Ltd’s subsidiary Paulig Pro Ltd has acquired the issued stock of Coffee Please Suomi Oy. Coffeeplease’s business sector is to sell coffee and other grocery items related to the coffee sector as well as selling and leasing coffee-making equipment, accessories and peripherals to corporate clients. The company also provides design and training services for the café and restaurant business. Coffeeplease’s turnover in the financial year ending in September 2007 was 6 million euros and it had 45 employees. The business newspaper Kauppalehti Optio listed Coffeeplease as Finland’s 8th most profitable growth company in November.
By this transaction, Paulig aims to underpin its position on the growing market for speciality coffees and workplace coffee provision. According to Managing Director Pekka Pirinen of Gustav Paulig Ltd, Coffeeplease will considerably boost Paulig’s offering. “The company will be able to provide our customers with coffee-making equipment or even with a total coffee provision service if preferred.”
The founders of the company will stay with it to develop operations. Jani Penttilä, who is continuing as Managing Director, is happy with the arrival of a strong player in the coffee sector. ”By leveraging Gustav Paulig Ltd’s resources and customer contacts, Coffeeplease will have the opportunity to strengthen its market position in Finland and expand operations to the Nordic countries and Russia.”
